Mobile Me, Me.com, .mac and the iPhone
Posted on 1 June 2008 in dotmac & MobileMe, iPhone & iPhone 3G | No Comments »
Rumors on the web, as always. Apple still motivates people to investigate on their intentions and strategies, especially when the WWDC approaches (which is often full of surprises).
Here’s a digest of these rumors.
While some found on the latest version of the iPhone’s firmware traces of something called “Mobile Me”, and while some others found similar things on the latest version of Leopard 10.5.3 (which has been released before WWDC), many rumors are claiming it’s the future .mac service, that will be called “Mobile Me” (what an ugly name for an Apple product).
Anyways, lately some websites are reporting the Me.com domain has been bought by… Apple.
One thing is sure, the iPhone was a mass success! And another thing is sure, Apple will release a new version of its mobile phone, because the iPhone made Apple reinvent the mobile phone.
The .mac service… Old and obsolete, I’m still paying the $99 because I’m used to use my @mac.com email address. Yeah, Apple increased the disk space to 10 Gb it’s true, but the service itself is unreliable. So, why ain’t there a new iSync, or .mac pannel in Leopard 10.5.3? And what is this “Mobile Me”? Did Apple really bought Me.com? That’s what we’ll discover in a couple of days!
All these informations are of course rumors (non official sources)…

Even if it’s not listed in the supported devices by BluePhoneElite 2, I told myself why not giving it a try (I purchase a serial number after all) and the license I want to use!
So, after a painful pairing process: the trick is patience + do not leave the Bluetooth settings menu of your iPhone, BPE 2 finally detected, recognized and added support for the iPhone of the great “Talk-Thru” feature.
Did a test to call myself, and… it works! Beautiful!

With the bezel window turned on… Even better! (Screenshot after the jump)…

No Porn for the iPhone. But what about Users Needs?
Posted on 24 May 2008 in iPhone & iPhone 3G | No Comments »
One of the rules for the App Store is “no porn” allowed Steve said in the WWDC’08.
On the flip side, Apple has allowed would-be porno application creators to download more than 250,000 programming kits.
Time Magazine reports that pornographers are racing to take advantage of the iPhone’s fast internet access, slick web browser and large screen.
And Google trends speak by themselves, just take a look at the graph bellow… It seems users are looking for something really “different”!
