While many of us think the Firefox logo is just a Fox on a Globe, some others went deeper in the investigations, and it seems they found a clue by looking up to the Sky.
As you can see (image below), it seems the Firefox logo has been inspired by the Star V838 Monocerotis; the image has been taken by Hubble.

The latest version of the Netscape 9.0 has been released for Mac.
The design is very cool and some new features has been added like the URL correction (if you type “htp://apple.cmo” for instance, the browser will go straight to “http://apple.com”). Netscape 9.0 also supports all of Firefox 2 extensions and the sidebar can be used as a mini browser.

NB: it won’t support Mac OS 10.3

Posted on 31 July 2007 in 3rd Party Software, Security & Maintenance | No Comments »
The Mozilla developers have released version 2.0.0.6 of the Firefox browser. It includes a further fix for the the special URL handling problem, which, under Windows XP with Internet Explorer 7 installed, allows attackers to call arbitrary installed programs. This can be accomplished merely by using crafted links on web pages or in e-mails.
