The Tomb Raider series follows the pixelated beauty, Lara Craft, thrill seeker and British archaeologist. Mystery, intricate puzzles, harrowing escapes, and priceless treasure is some of the things you will encounter during Lara Croft’s globetrotting escapades.

“The adventure begins when Lara is hired by a powerful syndicate to retrieve a mythical object called the Scion. As Lara searches ancient tombs and isolated worlds that have lain undisturbed for thousands of years, she discovers that she is not alone. Not only has she awoken their fearsome guardians but there are others desperate to learn the Scion’s dark secrets.”

If you want to try the game before you purchase your in luck MacGameFiles lets you download a demo Tomb Raider: Anniversary. The download is 273 MB in this demo; you will be able to play through part of the Lost Valley level in Peru. I originally started playing the Tomb Raider series on my desktop PC when it first hit the scene. I’ll be sure to download and play this on my MacBook Pro.

First Hands on Firefox 3 (Address Bar)

Posted on June 17th, 2008 in 3rd Party Software, Freeware | No Comments »

Flawless! That’s a fact. And a beautiful interface! Like many others I’ve noticed the fact pages are lighter in Firefox 3 than Safari, I did the test to see the difference, and.. no doubt, it’s like HD (Safari) compared to standard definition.

First, wanted to say it was not very bright to overwhelm their servers while they wanted to break a world record of downloads in a 24 hours period… The servers were off for hours…

Let’s first analyze the address bar:

  1. Type in a URL and it acts like Spotlight through your history; same thing with the Google menu (with popular searches)
  2. Favorites are marked with a star, clicking on the star adds the URL to your bookmarks (very cool)
  3. The RSS logo is now blue (a color, we, Mac users love more than the old orange)
  4. When you type in a URL, the “go” button appears as a blue “Play” logo, didn’t like it all, but it’s just a detail
  5. The address bar changes when you visit a secure page like PayPal reacts as a phishing center, increasing your security while browsing in sensitive websites, that is a very cool feature!
  6. Try to drag your Tabs to re-organize them and you’ll get an ugly thing compared to Safari’s smooth animation
  7. Firefox 3 has a very nice glow effect when you point your mouse cursor on one of the tab, you’ll see the site’s favicon glowing, Apple’s looks awesome!

That’s all I noticed for the address bar.

Real Player 11 Final Version

Posted on June 5th, 2008 in 3rd Party Software, Freeware | No Comments »

The final version has finally been released, this new version has a great new feature, it gives you the ability to save flash animations like the ones you see in YouTube or Daily Motion.

This is a surprise, since it wasn’t enabled in the beta version of Real Player! Now I understand better why CosmoPod needs you to have Real Player installed!

Download Real Player 11 here.
