Developed by Cocoatech, Path Finder is now on version 5.6.6 (for Snow Leopard).
This application is an alternative to the default Finder by Apple: a files browser.
But, Path Finder has many features the Finder doesn’t have, I’d like to share with you this screencast from Cocoatech showing off some of the features of this grandiose application!
First off, the Finder is the file browser on your Mac and sits on top of the desktop. It’s that handy utility that lets you find what you need on your Mac.
Main features that Path Finder brings are: Tabs and Bookmarks, Dual-browser mode, Two side panels, and a bottom panel, Preview pane, Application Launcher, File List Sorting & Filtering, Bookmarks Bar, Drop Stack, Search, Integrated Stuffit Engine, Multiple Sidebars, Size Browser, Secure Delete, Command Line tools, Text Editor and more!
I can’t wait no more to get 10.6… Here is a small collection of the “release dates” according to many known Apple bloggers:
Daring Fireball John Gruber says August 28th.
MacDailyNews: Friday, August 28th.
TheAppleBlog reports rumors about August 24th.
TUAW is supporting what Apple claimed: September.
MacWorld: September too.
LifeHacker: September too.
MacRumors’ Forums: September 25th 2009 (Friday) for the release & “New iMacs released on 22nd September, 2009 with Snow Leopard.”
Some other blogs thought it was June 8th…
I’d like it to be released as soon as possible, and we all Mac Fanatics know how long are 3 days of waiting… but I do believe it will be released and shipped in middle-September.
Because it seems there will be an Apple Event on September 7th…
Apple really wants to focus on the foundations and stability of the system with Snow Leopard, this means, to me, it can’t be released before September since it’s not about design and UI this time but it’s the Core.
You can see for example, the following image showing how slim the applications will be on SL compared to Leopard:
Apple Scripts are actions (or sets of actions) that can be launched from almost all of your Mac’s (bundled) Apple applications.
These scripts are time saving solutions especially for repetitive actions.
And here’s an example with iTunes and some of the best Apple Scripts (to me).
First thing to do, check if you do have the scripts folders for iTunes, the best way to make sure you do have it is to run iTunes and take a look at the menu bar, it should looks like this:
The Apple Scripts logo is the one you see before “help”.
If you don’t see it, just go to your Home Folder:Library:iTunes and create a folder and name it “Scripts”:

Sorry for the absence, I was very busy the previous days!
Let’s go back MacAmouring (Loving our Mac) with some rumors first of all.
As I said many times, I’m not pro rumors, but these ones are more likely than unlikely. iTunes 8.0, iPhone Firmware version 2.1 and maybe a new iPhone Nano.
The September 9th Apple Event: “Let’s Rock” will be more based on the Apple devices (iPod and iPhone as we said) than on the Mac (Computers and OS).
More audience as a result, that’s a sure thing, a Windows user will be interested with the latest iTunes version as well as the latest iPhone firmware’s version.
It’s sad, I wanted to hear about a new iLife’09 and iWork’09, some more on the upcoming version of Leopard (Snow Leopard).
Many pictures of the iPhone Nano 4G are available on the web.
The most “possible” one is the one under (on my opinion): Read the rest of this entry »
Microsoft scheduled the next version of its operating system for January 2010.
According to Steve Ballmer, Windows 7 will be closer from Vista than from XP. There will be many changes of course to reach their clients’ expectations.
Apple will probably be updating Snow Leopard for the 4th or 5th time and be working on the next version of Mac OS X (or 11).
2 important updates by their sizes and number of bug fixes improving stability, performances and general compatibility for the Microsoft Office suite.
Office 2004 goes 11.5.0 (45 Mb), Office 2008 updated to version 12.1.1 (153 Mb) and the new Open XML documents converter 1.0 (45 Mb).
