This is a request made by many MacAmour readers.
After the previous trick on how to insert an AIM online status button to their sites/blogs, a lot of those who enjoyed that trick wanted MORE, so here’s the tutorial.
How to do that?
Just go to the website www.onlinestatus.org and follow the instruction. You may need to create new account before you can user onlinestatus service.
IM Online WordPress Plugin
For wordpress user (using wordpress.org cms) you can simple add the plugin of the online status using IM Online WordPress Plugin.

Not blogging as often as I used too because of 2 reasons: preparing an important exam & some internet problems (I fixed with my ISP.. I hope).
Just updated WordPress to version 2.6.1, the 2.6 series is the best ever to me and as soon as I saw the update I wanted to install it on MacAmour.com.
Same great interface, same ease of use.. Excellent!
Apple impressed me again with the release of a new update for the iPhone (2.0.2) and an extra 60 free days for the MobileMe users (3 days without internet and so many new events!).
I also have been notified by Google I’m accepted to the Google Ad Manager Beta program, will take a closer look at it soon.
To relax while studying and working I’m listening to a french radio called: Chérie FM ZEN, a very good friend of mine Skander made me discover this one while we were studying together (chill out potpourri of French and English music, most of the songs are in English), if you’re ever interested in listening to it, you can add this stream from QT/iTunes or VLC: mms://vipnrj.yacast.net/cheriefm_webradio01
In QT for example, go to File>Open URL and paste the address: mms://vipnrj.yacast.net/cheriefm_webradio01

Google Custom Search added to MacAmour Blog + Small Tutorial

Just added the Google Custom Search engine to MacAmour instead of the classical search engine (mainly) based on Tags added manually.
This tool is powerful, because it really makes you feel you have Google’s power for a blog.
You can give it a try by searching for a combo of keywords like “unlock iphone 2.0″.
Impressive tool by Google (again).
The implementation of the code was quite easy.
- All you have to do to make is to follow the wizard, check the “display in a custom page” the results.
- Create a new page in your WordPress blog for example “MacAmour Search Results”, and paste the page’s URL in the Google Custom Engine’s wizard.
- Go to your “header.php” file, replace the search engine code by the one give by the Wizard.
- Edit the custom search results page by pasting in code view the code given by the Wizard.
Done.
WordPress for the iPhone

I was impatient for the release of this (free) iPhone application; I was wondering when WordPress would react against its competitor TypePad (who released its application a long time ago).
WordPress for iPhone is intuitive like almost all the iPhone applications; it supports self-hosted blogs and blogs hosted at WordPress; it also enables you to manage more than a blog.
Adding a blog doesn’t require a high level of expertise, all the applications asks for is the URL of the blog, the username and the password, a child can do it.
Now, losing your iPhone is more dangerous than it ever has been… Too many sensitive data stored there!

MacAmour.com with Worpress 2.5

Just installed WordPress 2.5 for MacAmour and … WOW!!! This is just the best update ever of the Number 1 blogging platform! The design of the new Dashboard is slick, fast and beautiful! It works perfectly on Safari, no need for me to launch Camino anymore to write a post.
