Flickr Launches Videos!
Posted on 8 April 2008 in News | No Comments »
Flickr’s turn to get into the embedded videos market, with its new service for artists: Flickr Videos beta! Videos can be only 90 seconds in length and 150MB in size for the moment, but they will probably increase this small size of course!
Flickr, which was acquired by Yahoo in March 2005, defined the concept of photo sharing, but has been slow to extend the service into the video world. In the meantime, Google’s YouTube has become the primary destination for video sharing, capturing one out of every three of the online videos in the U.S., according to comScore Media Metrix
3G iPhones are Coming
Posted on 2 April 2008 in News, iPhone & iPhone 3G | No Comments »
(Fortune) — Apple is gearing up for a big bump in sales of the next generation iPhone, the 3G iPhone, if new production plans are any guide, according to fortune magazine.
The plans show the faster iPhone will be rolling off the assembly line this summer. The initial order calls for 11 million iPhones to be built this year, with that total split between the existing 2.5G phone and the upgraded 3G phone, according to people familiar with the plan.
Apple appears to be targetting a June introduction of the 3G version of the phone, roughly a year after the original iPhone’s debut. And similar to last year, Apple seems to be scheduling a limited initial supply to be followed by more phones in the fall quarter.
Observers are split on how to interpret the plans however.

A lot of new things in Mac Amour these days:
- Jesus Franco joined us, he is the author of many great posts
- Mac Amour’s Community Website is still growing and it has today 43 members from different countries: USA, France, Tunisia, Colombia etc…
- Mac Amour now has a dashboard widget designed by Jesus Franco, it is available for download here
- Mac Amour’s rank on Alexa increased by 68% in 3 months, which is impressive!
- Mac Amour’s Webmail is ready, it’s ad free, super fast, but for the moment we only offered a few @macamour.com addresses to some of our VIP members
- I also had the honor to have my Tunisian holidays iCal calendar featured on Apple Downloads site, which is a special (little) thing to me
I would like to thank all of our readers, application developers and of course the Mac Amour team which are making of Mac Amour something “unique” (blog + community + small mail service combo)!
Transmission finally hits version 1.0 !

Thats what Transmission looks like on Leopard in its beta stage. As you can see the toolbar looks a bit off.
And that is what Transmission looks like at its current stage. As you can tell they really worked hard on this release. One of the major differences is the Leopard toolbar and status bar. The status bar now has curved borders and every button is now metal, to blend in with the rest of the Leopard interface.

iTunes interface mod for Leopard

As much as I love Apple as a company, I can’t stand how they don’t even follow their own “Interface Guidelines” sometimes.
Well I’ve had it with them and their need to have iTunes on Windows being an excuse for the interface that it uses.
And the fact that it doesn’t share resources with Finder.app and other application on the Mac.
I’ve taken it upon myself to Aquafy (if thats even a term) iTunes for improved usability while not sacrificing any features that other modifications do, or performance.
My modification is simply a hacked iTunes (read iTunes not system file!) resource file. It’s modified with buttons and resources of those found on Leopard. It greatly improves usability and simply looks good. Not to mention I had to get creative in some areas and was inspired by the 2d Dock separator in one of the section dividers.

A Sight Of 2k8

2007 is over.. What a year! We had almost everything!
Oil prices raised, wars (of course), terrorism, cries and so many human and natural disasters! What will happen in 2008?
Many events that will probably change the shape of our world: US presidential elections and Russian presidential elections too (Bush and Poutine won’t have the right to be candidates once again), but I’m sure Vladimir Poutine will remain on top of the government maybe as a prime Minister.
There will also Olympic Games.. in China! The question of human rights will be asked again, there will be possibly a boycott of the games that will take place in a country who decided to sacrif ice a whole generation to become an industrial power.
Nicolas Sarkozy will marry the beautiful Carla Bruni, he will also try to seduce North African countries to boost mediterranean exchanges. In 2008, we’ll talk again about oil, about terrorism, about hate, about Israel/Palestine, about Afghanistan, about nuclear (Iran) etc…
