Webmasters Quick Tip: Webclip Icons

iphone_browser_icon.jpgAt the MacWorld’s 2008 Keynote, Steve Jobs showed up one of the new features of the latest firmware update for the iPod Touch and iPhone (version 1.1.3). This feature is “webclips”: now you can add internet shortcuts to any website or area of a webpage (after making a zoom and adding a webclip). Once you’re done, you see an icon representing the website you “bookmarked”.

Twicetab!

A very cool Safari plugin! Once installed, it just creates a new tab each time you double click on the Safari’s tab bar and if you ever have a URL in your clipboard it just opens it when you click twice on the tab bar.

Change Safari progress bar in … 1 step

You can change the Safari progress bar from the “classic” location bar filled from left to right to a pie chart progress indicator like this one:

Safari Custom Progress Bar

This trick only works on Safari 3 beta.

Open terminal in Applications>Utilities and type (or copy/paste):
defaults write com.apple.Safari DebugUsePieProgressIndicator -bool true

If you want to revert to the old progress bar, go to terminal once again and type:
defaults delete com.apple.Safari DebugUsePieProgressIndicator
