Fix: Mail has undone actions on some messages so that you can redo the actions while online

Posted on June 11th, 2008 in Apple Mail, Macintosh Tips & Help | No Comments »

Just got this problem with Apple’s Mail, with the following message error:

Mail has undone actions on some messages so that you can redo the actions while online. Mail has saved other messages in mailbox “On My Mac” so that you can complete the actions while online.

Additional information: The IMAP command “APPEND (to Send Messages) failed with server error: Mailbox does not exist

To fix this issue, I used Onyx, and activated the “show hidden files”, then went to my Home folder > Library > Mail > IMAP-myemailaddress > .OfflineCache. And erased the content of that folder!

Problem fixed.

The iDisk now offers 20 gigas.
You can now synchronize a Mac, a PC and an iPhone wirelessly.

Apple developped web applications like the alredy known WebGallery (MobileMe Gallery now) and an Agenda etc…

While Apple Mail loads in a glimpse of an eye, Entourage feels the need to show you off it’s brand new splash screens for a couple of seconds…

Entourage 2008 Splash
Well, after a first look at Entourage, I told myself “why is it so complicated?”, look at all those buttons, columns, text, icons.. It’s for me impossible to talk about Entourage without comparing it to Apple Mail…

“To Do”: The Widget Apple Forgot

Posted on January 7th, 2008 in Address Book, iSync & iCal, Apple Mail, Dashboard | No Comments »

ToDo Widget

To Do is THE widget Apple forgot in the bundled widgets you have on your dashboard with Leopard. To me, stickies are dead, and they have been replaced by To Do and Notes in the latest Apple OS: Leopard.

This widget is simple, it has sleek design and it is 100% integrated to iCal & Mail. No need to open these apps to see your To Dos, the widget collects them all and it even gives you the ability to add/remove a To Do, or to mark them as done!

This post is intended for a friend in particular that didn’t knew that it is possible to collect AOL account via an application like Apple Mail or Thunderbird for free.

What is IMAP?
IMAP is an email protocol that stores email on the remote mail server. You can download these mails of course.

First, here is the how to configure an IMAP account:

  1. Go to Mail Preferences
  2. On the Accounts tab, click the [+] at the bottom left to start the account setup process
  3. Change the Account Type to IMAP and fill in your details
  4. Set the Incoming Mail Server and Outgoing Mail Server detail

Anti-Spam Apple Mail Illustration

A brilliant and easy to follow tutorial on how to fight against spam invasion in your Apple Mail’s inbox written by Matthew Cone for Mac Instruct.
After introducing a few basic settings you can do directly on Mail.app he introduces a Spam Filtering Software (SpamSieve) with a “How to use it”.
Very interesting: read it here.
