iPod Touch (real world review)

Posted on 18 February 2008 in Apple Hardware, iPod & iPod Touch | No Comments »

As many of you guys may know the iPhone and iPod Touch are very similar devices. I have no need for a cell phone (despite what others may think) and I could definitely pass on the horrible contract. For $400 the iPhone compares a model of the iPod Touch that cost $100 less. And the $400 iPod Touch brings twice the storage capacity. But at the end of the day its a matter of desired usage and or just preference. I don’t see the need for a mobile phone (I live in a small town), and I really think the iPhone’s size is not justified (yes it is bigger, and more distracting with that chrome border). Although the iPhone’s display may have a slighty better contrast, I feel the more storage the merrier, most users forget to remember Apple does not support removable memory in none of their products. Once you run out of space, you’ve hit a brick wall. Before the review gets started, I’d like to thank my sister, Iliana, as this review wouldn’t be possible without her, as it was a present from my sister. Iliana if your reading this, I love you!

On with the review of the iPod Touch, I’ll start off with packaging, and on with setup, ease of use, and then everyones favorite, conclusions!.

iphone_browser_icon.jpgAt the MacWorld’s 2008 Keynote, Steve Jobs showed up one of the new features of the latest firmware update for the iPod Touch and iPhone (version 1.1.3). This feature is “webclips”: now you can add internet shortcuts to any website or area of a webpage (after making a zoom and adding a webclip). Once you’re done, you see an icon representing the website you “bookmarked”.

Here’s a trick on how to set an icon for the iPod Touch/iPhone to recognize.
