New icons for the whole package. Office 2008 has the same components than 2004: Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Entourage.
The applications need more time than the previous version of Office to start on PPC based computers, while it runs faster than Office 2004 on Intel based Macintoshs, but once they are launched, you’ll be amazed.

Microsoft Corp. will delay the release of Office 2008 for Apple Inc.’s Macintosh computers until the middle of January 2008, in order to fix lingering bugs in the software.
The software maker previously said the new suite, which is to include Microsoft (nasdaq: MSFT - news - people ) Word, Excel, PowerPoint and the Entourage e-mail program, would go on sale sometime in the second half of 2007.
