Renaming/Hiding Boot Camp Partition

The boot Camp partition (NTFS system file) is, as many of you have noticed, read only.
As a result, you can’t rename it, change its icon, delete a file from it…
- To rename your bootcamp partition, just boot to Windows and rename the Hard Drive from there (from the Windows explorer).
- To hide your bootcamp HD, just change the name of the Windows Hard Drive (see above) but this time, type a dot (.) before the name of the HD.
Example: “.Vista”

Thanks! I had wanted to rename my boot camp partition for some time, but had had no success. Then I thought “why not try it from Windows?” – you’re right, it works.
But I never would have thought of renaming it with the “.” to make it invisible from the Mac side – that was very helpful.
