Good day people. I’m a new blogger here. I’m not too good with introductions and anecdotes so here goes.

I’m Kofi Blades from a cool tropical island in the Caribbean- Trinidad and Tobago. Hédi is a good friend of mine though we never met. I’ve been following the iPhone development for a while after owning several iPhones;  unlocking, jailbreaking, updating, activating, restoring, unbricking, modifying and customizing- you name it and now here I am. After scouring the blogosphere, endless RSS feeds and enlightening through my own experience, I hope my efforts are appreciated as I strive to be grammatically correct, factual and helpful as possible. Thanks everyone.

There are a lot of products and software that claim to do unlocks but most of them don’t. The only true unlocking tools that ever existed were iPhoneSIMFree’s software that withstood all future firmware updates, anySIM that was released by the DevTeam that unlocked iPhones, and even if there was a problem and a user felt the need to restore, one did not have to reunlock the iPhone. The same goes to Nate True’s iBrickrIndependence, Zibri’s command line and graphical UI, ZiPhone and Pepjin & Francis’ iLiberty+ and Drakenza’s iDemocracy.

The DevTeam’s Pwnage tools are great and while they are, IMHO, ultimate unlock solutions as they are reversible, they are not as convenient as the other all-in-one tools. I am not discrediting them because the concept of Pwnage is great. Eventually or possibly all now, it will enable developers who want to run special custom software or any operating system that the iPhone’s hardware can support to do just that.

Now, considering all these things, I love choice and I sincerely and fervently hope that Zibri is working on another unlock to a great product that was the basis for other developers’ tools. (Don’t believe me, check the ‘about’ section of iDemocracy) A lot of people may not agree with me calling on the Italian to continue working on a code for a ZiPhone 4 or something. Some may say that he stole code, some may call him egocentric and a downright liar. While I may agree that his ego is a clog for him and he should be wary of it, I was not there for the fallouts with JerrySIM, the iPhone Elite team and the NCK counter of the original anySIM, Nate True’s fallout after his special 1.1.3 jailbreak and Geohot’s apparent childishness; it seems that they are all very good at what they do. Many users may cry that it even bricked some of their iPhones,

Who is going to cast the first stone?

I also encourage other developers to step up to change the way the corporate giants are doing business that’s beneficial to them and not totally for the consumers and their pockets.

I’ve been poking around the net and there seems to be a way use the iPhone 3G on non official carrier networks and I am going to try it. The first one that is popular is with the use of the YesSIM and even a FuriouSIM. This was not advised by the DevTeam to use as these SIM hacks send back packets of disruptive data to the carrier network. (If this corrupted data allows me free calls dat eh go be no scene :-D) However, there is one that I found here that is recommended zf of the DevTeam but involves the use of a TurboSIMThis one does not send corrupted data back to the network. All screenshots, related software and a full comprehensive tutorial is on the site.

I’ll try my best so by the ending of next week, I can have my 3G on. Anthony thought I was tweeting like a bat outta hell on Twinkle, wait till I get this done. All software that will be modified will be on the TurboSIM. The iPhone will not be modified in any way. The only cause for concern will be physical with  the use of the TurboSIM. Modeminho knows he’s going to hear from me when I finish this hack. Installer 4 beta will be released to the public soon as I have not been able to get my Pwnage Tool updated to 2.0.2. Worth noting also is in addition to supporting applications created by the ToolChain foor 2.0, I was told that Installer 4 supports applications developed by the SDK. To owners of iPhones I usually service that are reading this blog, I will not be doing this hack to your iPhones. I will wait till a more stable, software only solution is available.

Peace to everyone and here’s my cousin obtaining my iPhone so I can do my thing and update you guys and to a true iPhone 3G unlock.
