Well I’m honored to be an author and a member of the Mac Amour network. Hedi (the founder of Mac Amour) has given me the privilege in joining him in publishing content for this blog. I am Jesus Franco, some may also know me by Jehova (not a Jehovah Witness :p), and I have been a friend of Hedi since the days of Aqua-Soft and AquaXPThe days when imitating Aqua on Windows XP (often refereed to as Emulating) was very popular, and very few people understood that just because it may appear to be a Mac, doesn’t make it a Mac. Once I grasped this concept of how tightly integrated the Mac OS really is, I made the switch myself.Since then, I couldn’t be happier, until now. Sense of belonging, a sense that my word is being heard. Thanks Hedi!

Now back to some news shall we?

We all know 10.5.2 is coming, but now we have somewhat of an idea of when it will be available. It seems Apple will announce at Macworld 08′ some updated hardware, the iPhone SDK, and even a sub-notebook. Wether or not these rumors are true, one thing we can be certain of is that 10.5.2 will be a maintenance release and it will be available in first quarter of 2008 and will also feature some much needed enhancements to Stacks. So far the update adds more options to Stacks while also fixing performance issues.

Stacks now has a “Options” SubMenu where users can set different attributes to     each individual Stack. Users can display the Stack as a “Folder” and that would         display the Stack as an icon, similar the the behavior of previous versions of OS X.   As you can see from the screenshot of a developer test build of the update there is   also a “Sort by” options where users can specify how they want their Stacks      ”Sorted”. And finally one widely requested feature is the “List” view.  Although the exact timings might be wrong, but my expectation from MacWorld 08′ is a beta iPhone/iPod touch SDK, a new iPhone and iPod firmware that would allow native applications that are digitally signed by the SDK to be executed. And of course the updated MacPro. Hopefully we’ll also get new Cinema Displays, but don’t hold your breath.

To all MacAmour fans, this is Jesus Franco reporting to you, and I wrap up my first post with a good bye.
