Guide: Leopard Under Control

It’s a request made by a visitor. Couldn’t say no, because the idea is very interesting.
In this post, I’m going to “list” all the howtos and tutorials I wrote previously on Leopard: from the installation to networking.
This “guide” is mainly intended to people who (like me) did an archive & install of Apple’s latest Operating System.
- Things to do before installing Mac OS X Leopard
- It would be important to know which of your applications aren’t Leopard ready (example: if you are working on a non Leopard ready application, it would be safer to wait before installing 10.5)
- You May already have heard about the Leopard’s Blue Screen Of Death.. You have to read this to solve/avoid having that issue
- Installing Leopard in Target Disk Mode may be required for some Mac users, here’s the tutorial
- Now, Leopard’s installed, there will be a permissions problem (if you did an Archive & Install); for example, your password will be asked every time you want to delete, move, edit a document; here’s the solution to fix your permissions.
- Some people finds the new Dock distractive or just didn’t like it, here’s the how to revert the 3D dock to a 2D (Tiger) looking one.
- And finally, another “common issue”, is that intermittent internet connection problem: some has their internet connection often cut down, some others have a lower speed connection, this is what I did to “fix” as much as I could this problem.
