The latest Civilization has arrived and it is unlike any previous expansion of the franchise! It is packed with so much that “expansion” is a word that is too small for it.

The game has an improved AI, which means you will be enjoying the game more because it would feel more as if you are playing with real people. The game is also focuses more on the diplomatic aspect of it, rather than on war waging. One of he most exciting features is Corporations. Those act similar to the religions (there are 7 corp.) but they will require some of your empire’s resources, but in return they will give you back a different resource. For example, if you have a Great Scientist, then you can build an Aluminum Inc. It will require access to the Coal and in return it will provide you with Aluminum.

Another exciting thing about it is the new Espionage! With the new expansion there is now a slider, just like you have sliders to adjust your income and allocate some of the coming money to culture or research. Now you can allocate the money towards any civilization and after a certain amount of time (depending on your empire’s wealth) you will start to find out things about the rival civilization. And of course, now there is a new Great Person - Great Spy.

Thee is another , new aspect of the game that is very cool - Random Events. tose can be either a blessing or a curse. There are dozens upon dozens of different random events, but some of them include: natural disasters (like hurricanes, earthquakes, etc.) missions, call for help from other civilizations, etc.

But why is it called “Beyond the Sword” ? The scenarios that Civilization now offers can range from historical events to futuristic once. there is also one mythical scenario, if you’re into magic ad the gods of old.

There is much more new stuff in this expansion and the only way to truly experience them is to get the expansion ,and…well, experience them!

PS : I believe this will be the last expansion for Civilization IV which means Civilization V should be on it’s way!
