QuickTip: iTunes “Radial Menu” for QuickSilver
September 27th, 2007, Hedi Regaya |
Wanna have this super sexy menu to control iTunes?
- Go to your System Preferences> Universal Access and check “Enable access for assistive devices”

- Go to QuickSilver’s Preferences and check “enable advanced features” (it will ask you to relauch, click “ok”)

- Go to Plug-ins and check the “Constellation Menus” (it will install the plug-in as soon as you check the box)

- Now invoke Quicksilver with “^space” and write down “iTunes” then press “tab” to switch to the actions and type “radial”

- Go back to QS’s preferences and click on the “Triggers” button and create a new one by clicking on the “+”

- Now all you have to do is to assign a Keyboard shortcut for the new created trigger like “F6″ or “F7″.
I’d like to thank Toni Milovan for his contribution and MacDeviant for encouraging me doing this 2nd QS small tuto.

Well, well, well… Great tip! The old saying goes “ask and you shall receive”. Thank you very much Hedi for the QuickTip for iTunes Radial Menu for QS, works like a charm.
Thanks MacDeviant, but… the fact I was unable to create a triggger for the Radial Menu is frustrating me, hope a QS “expert” will find for us a solution…

Your right, hopefully someone will come forward and create a trigger for the Radial Menu. It’s still beats opening iTunes and searching around or messing with setting up numerous triggers to control iTunes from QS.
Well, trigger creation is not a problem.
Simplest way to do it is: First open the quicksilver preferences and leave the window open.
Second, call the radial menu as you desicribed it above.
Now go back to preferences window, click on triggers, add new hotkey. The last action will be preselected for you, just save it and assign keys.
